RWJBarnabas Health Is Seeking a Colorectal Surgeon at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a full-time, board-certified Colorectal Surgeon to join an established practice at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. This opportunity is ideally suited for a surgeon with three to five years of practice experience who is interested in a busy, collaborative environment with opportunities for academic involvement and continued practice growth.

The successful candidate will join three colorectal surgeons and a dedicated APP support team in a 100% colorectal surgery practice with no general surgery call. The practice offers a high volume of complex open and minimally invasive abdominal surgery, with opportunities to expand colonoscopy, benign anorectal, and pelvic floor services.

With a strong focus on colon and rectal cancer, the team works closely with colleagues in gastroenterology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and hospital medicine to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.

Position Highlights:

• Full-time role within an established, high-volume colorectal surgery practice.
• Collaborative team of three colorectal surgeons with dedicated APP support.
• Advanced surgical technology and services, including five da Vinci robotic surgical systems, with a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center. 
• Shared 1:4 colorectal surgery call covering Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Jersey City Medical Center.
• Rutgers faculty appointment with opportunities to educate surgical residents, physician assistants, and Rutgers students.
• Opportunities to grow specialized services in colonoscopy, benign anorectal conditions, and pelvic floor disorders.
  
  

Candidate Requirements:

• Board certification in both Colon and Rectal Surgery and General Surgery.
• Three to five years of practice experience preferred.
• Experience performing complex open and minimally invasive colorectal surgery.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration, patient-centered care, and medical education.
